Train Guide
DART
Dublin has two public train companies with the DART service commencing at Howth DART station going into the city centre (Connolly, Tara Street stations) and terminating past Brey town in Greystones Co.Wicklow. The service runs from 06.30 to 11.30 daily and a DART leaves every 20-30 minutes depending on time of day. It takes about 30 minutes to travel from Howth to the city centre. Cost is €1.70 one way.
Irish Rail / Iarnród Éireann
For journeys outside of Dublin Iarnród Éireann is the national rail service. Its a good service and can get you to most parts of the country in just a few hours. It has two main stations in central Dublin Connolly and Heuston. Trains travelling north leave from Connolly while going west or south Heuston is used. There is also a DART station at Connolly which is handy. Those getting a train from Heuston station can get off the DART at Connolly and get the LUAS Dublin's new tram service from Connolly to Heuston. The journey takes about 15 minutes.
