Dublin Bus
Dublin has just one public bus company Dublin Bus or Bus Átha Cliath as gaeilge. Their services are good and reliable. Howth is served by the numbers 31, 31B and 31C. Why not print out one of our timetables. The 31 and 31B both start/end their journey in Howth and go as far as Dublin city centre. Journey times vary according to time but typically take 30-50 minutes. The fare from Howth one way is €1.90. The 31C is a local bus that goes around Howth hill linking the Dart stations at Sutton and Howth. It is advisable to have the correct change/fare when boarding any bus as no change is given! A ticket is issued to the value of the change and can be redeemed at Dublin Bus' head office on O'Connell Street Dublin.

Late night Nitelink buses run every night except Sunday from Dolier Street in the city centre. The 31N serves Sutton and Howth - details here. Sightseeing Tours
Dublin Bus also operates a number of excellent Sightseeing Tours for visitors to the city. There is a 20% discount for online bookings so visit them hereto save money and get information. For journeys outside of Dublin Bus Éireann is the national bus service. Its a good service, reasonably priced and can get you to most parts of the country in just a few hours. Its main terminus is called Busáras (busawrus) and is located in the centre of Dublin city on the north bank of the liffey opposite the Custom House. Busáras' location is very handy being just a few hundred yards from where the bus or Dart leaves you coming from Howth. Ask the driver. On national routes there are also a number of private operators who offer excellent services between the major provincial towns.
